This is the Mimosa tree which grows in the neighbors yard, but on the border so that it is 90% in our yard. I was going to post the pics so that maybe one of my gardening friends could identify it for me, but I found it through google. I guess it is also called a silk tree and it is in the pea family. It grows like a weed and I have to keep hacking off parts of it. It makes a little shade over our front porch area which we greatly need as that faces the southwest. Originally these trees came from China.
