Thank You For The Award!

Thank you for the blog award Kimberly! It's nice to be appreciated and it means a lot coming from you! Kimberly is an awesome woman of God and is holding down the home front while her Hubby is deployed. Holding down the home front includes home school 5 kids and taking care of some of their special needs. Maybe when you read this, you can say a prayer for her and Hubby - that Kimberly will continue to be strengthened by God and that Hubby will come home safely. Less than 2 months to go! Woo Hoo!

So here is the tricky part for me! There are many blogs I read on a regular basis and love and I have many blog friends who I know in real life too! Maybe I'll have to pick some of my newer reads. Here are the rules:

1. Post this award on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3. Nominate at least 4 other bloggers, and add their links as well.
4. leave a comment at the new recipients' blogs, so they can pass it on.

Wisteria and Roses - This is a lovely blog that I have just begun reading this summer. Not only does she have lots of "lovelies" to share, but her faith sparkles through. One of the things I appreciate about her writing is that she speaks honestly about living with Autism and losing a child as well as the daily ins and outs of life with family. I'm enjoying getting to "know" her.

Woolly Tales - Heather has been allowing all of us to vicariously be shepherdesses on the Canadian prairie! I love the little glimpse of ranching life she gives me and I'm enjoying getting to know her beautiful spirit as well!

Down On The Farm - Marci blogs about life on Amazing Grace Farm. Lately she has photographed George as he emerged from his chrysalis, the amazing bounty God has blessed their farm with and daily snippets of farm life. In addition to her blog, Marci has a little General Store where you can find all kinds of neat products for simple and healthy living!

Deborah's Doings - I never know what I will find on Deborah's blog - snakes, babies, bread, turkeys, chickens, knitting and weaving. Their family survived a hurricane and now they are needing to relocate again. Please pray for them to be able to sell their home quickly so they will not be separated from Daddy at his new job!

Hmmm... do you see a theme? Perhaps being cooped up in the house since August 28th has me enjoying the outdoors vicariously! LOL

Here are a few other blogs for your enjoyment (And I am updating the links at right. Don't see yours? Let me know so I can remedy that!) that I did not leave an award for. These are blogs where I do not really correspond with the person, but enjoy the inspiration from their blog. (I feel funny leaving a blog award for a stranger - like I'm a stalking blogger fan! lol)

Eyes of Wonder - Jewels opened her blog back up for public viewing! Yeah! Then her camera broke! :o( Hopefully she'll be posting more soon because her photography of their simple life, gives you a feast for the eyes!

Little Cabin in the Woods - Lovely photography of life with "Three Empresses".

Little Jenny Wren - She makes the most lovely little Waldorf style dolls I have ever seen! Many posts feature knitting and homemaking skills in her beautiful Australian home.

Britt-Arnhild's House in the Woods - Beautiful photography in Scandinavia.

Amish America - News and views of the Amish land and people.

Handbook of Nature Study - Charlotte Mason method teaching from a nature book my Grandma used in college in the 1920s! Lovely photos of her family's outdoor adventures.

Yarn Storm - Her book just arrived in the mail today and I can't wait to delve into. My friend Pamela in England, who sadly, no longer has a blog, introduced me to this riot of color! There is always something fun to see even if you are not a crafter or baker!

You Make My Day!

Thank you Sherri for the You Make My Day Award! How nice. Sherri makes my day too. I visit her blog every day to see what she has been up to. I enjoy her knitting adventures and her family life, especially how she writes about their journey with a Downs Syndrome child, with gentle grace.

I am blessed by so many people on the Internet that it is hard to narrow down to ten, so if I didn't choose you, it doesn't mean you don't make my day! :o) Here are the rules:

“Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.”

Amy She started me blogging and she encourages me with her honest writings on grief and maintaining faith in difficult circumstances. She's also witty, intelligent and creative. I always look forward to seeing what's next on her blog.

Lynette She is not only the Children's Education Director at our church, but she has also proven herself to be a good friend. She has been a faithful listener, always ready to pray, her smile lights up a room and she loves my kids - what more can I say?!

Fruitful Words Gritty, meaningful observations, ideas and journaling from our Women's Ministry/Small Group Leader. I appreciate the gentleness of her spirit and the power and strength of her testimony and faith.

Virginia Queen Bee My newest online friend, who I met through Amy's blog. We have a lot in common. It's always fun to make new friends.

Heather An old IRL friend who I met on the NorCalScrapbooking list. Heather is a breath of fresh air, joyous, faithful and encouraging. She was an "angel" God sent at the right time when I was first getting used to living in California and felt all alone.

Shelley My best friend, my SPICE, my patient listener, my partner on wild adventures, my "laugh until you pee your pants, don't have to explain yourself to be understood" friend and a new Bee Keeper (Or working on it!).

Cary How can someone not make your day when the Holy Spirit wakes them in the wee hours to pray for you? Cary is one of the biggest hearted people I have ever known and she blesses me in so many ways, not the least of which is with her lovely Corriedale Comfort Wool!

Carissa A young Mom who is extremely intelligent, creative and generous. It has been a joy to see her journey over the last few years. She has three of the most adorable kids I've ever seen! :o)

Donna Another newish friend. Donna is a Pastor's wife and another Mommy of Twins. They just turned one. Pray for her! LOL She spins the most incredible stuff on her spindle, posts wonderful creativity inspirational photos, pulling ideas from God's Creation. She strikes me as a "still water" that sometimes runs deep and sometimes sparkles and bubbles. I'm enjoying getting to know her.

Deborah She started the wonderful Christian Artisans list which has been a Haven for me on the Internet, but she also inspires me by her faith, family adventures and her health journey and knowledge. Sometimes it feels like Deborah and I are living parallel lives.

There were several other people I could have chosen as well as some who don't have blogs. Thank you to anyone who reads here. I love hearing from you. I hope you enjoy checking out my friends' blogs!

Nice Matters

My friend Debra chose me to receive a "Nice Matters Award". THANK YOU Debra! I have been seeing these all throughout blog land and I don't know who to thank or give credit to for starting this.

“This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award."

Some of the people Debra chose, would have been on my list and some of the others I would chose have already been chosen by others, so it was hard to choose. If I left you out, it's because I could only choose 7! All of my blogging friends deserve a "Nice Matters Award"! (Why would I read not-nice blogs?! LOL)

Stuck On Grace is my friend Lynette at church who is an awesome Christian Education Director. I am also enjoying getting to know her as a friend and she has been very encouraging to me!

Fruitful Words is my friend Susan, also from our church. She heads up Women's Ministry and the small groups as well as works on her degree at seminary. Besides being an all around wonderful and encouraging woman, she often has helpful or thought provoking blog posts and I have found some interesting blogs on her blog roll (which I believe is not up at the moment).

Journaling Back To Joy can not be left off the list! Amy is the one who started me blogging in the first place after we met in quilting class. She sat at a different table and I "just knew" that she was a Christian and hoped that we would connect. She journals openly and honestly about her grieving process which is healthy and helps many of us who have felt like we need to grieve in a closet where others can't see us. She is also a homeschool Mama who works for The Old Schoolhouse magazine and she is a knitter. She also blogs at KnitnMom.

Chrysalis Knits is a young Mom who knits and spins, sews and designs. She is always ready with a kind word and encouragement and often leaves comments on my blog with helpful hints and answers to my fibery problems.

Deborah's Doings Deborah has really made a difference in my online experience. Many of you probably have heard me mention the Christian Artisans list (tag/link at right side) and Deborah started this group at Yahoogroups. These women have really made a difference in my life through prayer and fellowship. Thanks Deborah! Her blog has a fantastic story of her family's recovery from hurricane loss and her homeschooling, weaving, spinning, knitting and homesteading adventures.

Perennial Grace is my friend Eve in New York. She also has Simply Divine Fibers blog and shop. I chose her because she is always helping people learn to knit and spin and gives of herself in many ways. She knits, spins, dyes, gardens and is a wonderful Mom and Grandma.

Last, but not least, is my best friend Shelley, the newest blogger I know who is blogging at Meadow Meanderings. Shelley has been a faithful friend the last 15 years. We became roommates when I broke off my engagement in 1992 and she was my Maid of Honor when I married my One True Love. She has been through thick and thin with me and she is one of the most giving people I know. Her blog holds promise...her lovely photography and adventures and her funny adventures with three Pug dogs!
