ABC Along - D

I'm a day late and a dollar short (as my Grandma Hopkins would say) for posting my D post for the 2008 ABC Along.

D is for Drop Spindle, this is my Pilchuck from Cascade Spindles which I purchased from Kendig Cottage on eBay.

D is for Dud and Dorothy. This is a dud picture taken by my Great Grandfather Fred Tisdale. I love it though, even though everyone is looking goofy, it is a glimpse into my family's life circa 1913. And it's nice to know that I am not the only one running into this problem when taking pictures of my kids! That's my Grandma Hopkins in the back, brother Homer Tisdale on the left and Clifton Tisdale on the right. In the front middle is Grandma's sister Dorothy Tisdale.

D is for Dynamite and Dynamic Duo. Together we are TNT! :o) Hubby is a Divine gift. He's a great Husband and an awesome Dad.

D is for Dog. This is me Christmas 1976 with my dog Tuffy.

D is for D, my firstborn, my delight. Here he is with my Grandma Hopkins. She held on until she met him and then died two weeks later. She is wearing a lace mohair scarf I knit her and the afghan I crocheted for her. She was so tickled with him and just as delighted as me!

D is for Darlin', that's what my Mom has called him from day one!

D is for Dipko, my family from Slovakia that has been my biggest genealogical brick wall. This is Alexander Burczinski Smith (changed his name in America) and Annie Dipko Smith. Circa 1890.

D is for Dance, here is D with a little friend from church at a birthday party in January.

D is for Dream. This is my best friend Shelley who has dreamed a long time of raising bees for honey and this year she is working on making that dream come true! This is one of the things I have always admired about her...she has a sense of adventure, plans and makes her dreams come true!

D is for Dirty, which is unavoidable with three kids...unavoidable for Mom too! lol

D is for discombobulated, a favorite family word...this must be the state one is in to wear their underwear on their head!

D is for Digital photography and scrapbooking. This is my first (and so far only!) layout, which I did last year for the girls' 4th birthday. It's on my list of things to work on this year.

D is for Daddy, this is my Daddy circa 1947 in his "diaper doos"! lol

D is for Dolly, the Shetland sheep whose fleece I purchased at the shearing today!

D is for dollies, which come double when you have twins. This is A last summer.

D is for Doll Dress and the best kind of Dolly! This is J on her 4th day. She was so tiny, but long! She is wearing a dolls' nightie that my Mom made for me when I was a little girl.
