This is northern California at its best (not counting the coast!). This is a ranch off of Hwy 49 in Gold Country that we saw on the way home. The oaks are one thing I will miss when we leave the state. You can't tell in this photo but they spread and sprawl and some are huge...though small in comparison to the Sequoia trees!
