Sweet Dreams Are Made of These...

Two nights in a row I took pictures of J sleeping. J is our daughter who is always living in her own little dream world anyway. Her imagination is huge, she's extremely stubborn and her smile is like sunshine lighting the world! When she goes to sleep she takes her "entourage" with her - various stuffed animals, purses and other paraphernalia she deems necessary!

Here she is sleeping with a bear that was a Christmas present from Grampa's cousin Kathy. J loves this bear as it is very snuggly and also because it has a cool red fleece Christmas scarf that is more often donned by J than the bear! When it's triple digit heat she wears it around her neck. What kind of a knitter Mommy am I ? I need to knit this girl a scarf! :o) The bee around her wrist is supposed to be for going around hair, but it is so HUGE I don't think it every will. However, the best dress Kindergartner's are wearing them this year - they are all the rage! LOL

The next night her snuggle companion of choice was Tahoe. I purchased Tahoe when I was pg with D. We took his picture with him every month to document his growth. We tried doing that with the girls but life with 3 children under the age of 2 is interesting and busy. Some things don't get done! I think we made it through the 9th month.

And while I was sneaking around taking pictures in the dark, I snapped a shot of the butterfly quilt. This is a quilt that my Grandma Johnson bought for me at a garage sale in the 1970s. Most of the fabrics are 1940s, so probably it was made in the 50s. The workmanship is not very high quality but it is really cute and is a special reminder to me of all the fun times I had with Grandma Johnson when I was a child. All the girls in our family like butterflies! :o)

I have a butterfly quilt my grandmother made for me. It was made in the 70s from a pattern she used in the 50s.

Very sweet pictures. Your little J packs for sleeping like I pack for leaving the house....all the tools and knitting I deem a neccesity to wherever I'm going. I don't want to be caught without!

I can't believe that someone would sell a handmade quilt at a garage sale. How sad.

Your daughter is so cute.
